ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is investigating a new approach to help identify and treat alcohol and drug use problems among teenagers, especially those who also have mental health issues. The study is looking at a method called SBIRT, which stands for Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment. This method involves quickly checking for signs of substance use during routine doctor visits for teens aged 12 to 17. The goal is to see if delivering this support online can help more young people get the help they need, especially those who are at high risk for these problems.

To be part of this study, teens must be between 12 and 17 years old and have been seen for a routine check-up, known as a Well Visit. They should show signs of risk, like using alcohol or drugs frequently or having recent issues with depression or thoughts of self-harm. There are no specific exclusions, so as long as they meet the age and risk criteria, they can participate. Those who join can expect to receive support and resources to help them address their substance use and any mental health concerns. Overall, this trial aims to make it easier for young people to get the help they need in a way that fits into their lives.
