ClinConnect Summary
The StEP OUT trial is designed to find better ways to help prevent obesity in young children by using telehealth, which means using technology like video calls to provide support and education. This study focuses on pregnant women who identify as Hispanic/Latinx and are at least 14 weeks along in their pregnancy. Participants should be able to speak either English or Spanish, be 18 years or older, and have access to a phone or device for video calls. They should also be receiving or eligible for WIC benefits, a program that provides nutritional support.
If you join the trial, you can expect to participate in sessions that focus on nutrition, feeding behaviors, and breastfeeding, all aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle for you and your future child. The researchers are looking for feedback to make the program as effective and user-friendly as possible, so your input will be valuable. Overall, this study is about creating a supportive environment for families to help reduce the risk of obesity in children from an early age.
