ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating two different methods of placing a breathing tube (intubation) during surgery: fiberoptic intubation and direct oral intubation. The main goal is to see which method is better at keeping patients' heart rates and blood pressure stable when using anesthesia that doesn't include opioids (pain medications). Additionally, the study will look at how long each method takes and if either method leads to more problems after surgery, like a sore throat or hoarseness.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be adults aged 18 to 55 who are healthy enough for surgery, specifically classified as ASA physical status I or II (meaning they have no serious medical issues). People with certain health problems, such as heart or lung diseases, high blood pressure, or those who are significantly overweight, won’t be able to participate. If you join the study, you can expect to receive one of the two intubation methods during your surgery, and you’ll be monitored closely for any changes in your heart and blood pressure. This research aims to improve surgical safety and comfort for patients during anesthesia.
