ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how training nursing students in elderly care can change their attitudes towards ageism, which is the discrimination against older individuals just because of their age. Ageism can lead to negative views and unfair treatment of elderly people, often viewing aging as a decline in abilities and independence. The study will involve 150 nursing students from a university in Istanbul, and they will be divided into two groups: one that receives the training and one that does not. By comparing the two groups, researchers hope to see if the training helps reduce ageist attitudes among nursing students.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be over 18 years old, currently studying nursing, and willing to volunteer. Importantly, they should not have received any prior training related to elderly care. Participants will complete a survey to assess their attitudes before and after the training. This research is currently recruiting participants and aims to create a more positive and respectful approach to caring for the elderly in healthcare settings.
