ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different levels of exercise—light and moderate intensity—affect the health and well-being of people with Myasthenia Gravis (MG), which is a condition that causes weakness in the muscles. The study will enroll 20 participants who are between 18 and 80 years old and have been stable on their MG medication for at least three months. The participants will take part in a special exercise program at the HealthPartners Neuroscience Center, where they will work with certified exercise professionals. They will exercise in small groups three times a week for 12 weeks, randomly assigned to either the light or moderate exercise group. The researchers hope to find out if light exercise can provide similar benefits as moderate exercise for individuals with MG.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be able to sign consent forms and cannot have recent experience with regular exercise or certain medical issues that could interfere with their ability to participate. This includes serious heart or lung conditions, significant cognitive impairment, or being pregnant. This study is a great opportunity for those with MG to engage in a supportive exercise program while helping to advance understanding of how exercise can improve health outcomes for people with this condition.
