ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the risk factors that can lead to hospitalization after a fall in older adults. Every year, many older people experience falls, and while we know some reasons for these falls, we need to better understand what makes some of them end up in the hospital. The researchers want to find out which factors, especially those related to how a person walks and moves, can be changed to help prevent hospital stays after a fall. By identifying these factors, they hope to provide early rehabilitation and support to those at risk.

To participate in this study, individuals need to be over 65 years old, have experienced at least one fall, and be able to walk without assistance. They should also be hospitalized in a geriatrics center or seen at a fall consultation at Strasbourg University Hospital between May 1, 2023, and January 31, 2024. If someone chooses to take part, they will help researchers gather important information that could improve care for older adults at risk of hospitalization due to falls. It's essential for potential participants to know that their privacy will be respected, and they can opt out if they do not wish to share their data.
