ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying different ways to help people with binge eating who are also overweight or obese. The researchers want to see how effective three different 12-week programs are in reducing the number of binge eating days. The first program is standard weight loss treatment, the second combines this treatment with self-help tools for better eating habits, and the third adds biofeedback, which is a way to learn about your body's responses. They will primarily look at how many days participants experience binge eating episodes and also explore other factors like impulsivity and emotional challenges.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be between 18 and 65 years old, have a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or higher, be able to read and write in Italian, and have binge eating disorder or a similar condition. Those currently being treated for binge eating by a psychologist, with severe mental health issues, or other significant medical problems will not be able to join. Participants can expect to take part in one of the three treatment programs and will be monitored for their progress over the 12 weeks. This trial aims to find out which approach works best in helping people manage their binge eating and overall well-being.
