ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new way to reduce pain during a specific hair restoration treatment called Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy for people experiencing hair loss, known as alopecia. The study will take place at the NYU Skin and Cancer Clinic and will involve about 100 patients. Each participant will have one half of their scalp treated with a device that uses vibrational anesthesia (a method to numb the area) while the other half will not receive this treatment. After the procedure, patients will fill out a simple survey to rate their pain levels, which will help researchers determine if the vibrational anesthesia makes a difference.
To qualify for this study, participants must have had at least one previous PRP treatment for their hair loss and be able to participate and give consent. It's important to note that this study is not yet recruiting participants, so there will be no immediate action required. Those who join the trial can expect to have their pain levels monitored and compared between the two sides of their scalp to see if the new technique improves their comfort during the procedure.
