ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking into infections that can occur after surgery involving abdominal wall prostheses, which are materials used to repair hernias. These infections can be serious and hard to treat, so the researchers want to study about 500 patients who had surgery between January 2017 and July 2023. They aim to understand the different types of infections that happen, what causes them, and how to manage them better.

To participate in this study, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have undergone a specific type of hernia surgery with an abdominal wall prosthesis at a particular hospital. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and anyone who chooses to join can expect to contribute to important research that could help improve treatment for future patients facing similar issues. One important thing to keep in mind is that participants need to have no objections in their medical records regarding the use of their data for research purposes.
