ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at invasive fungal infections caused by certain types of fungi in patients who have received heart transplants. These infections can be serious, especially for people with weakened immune systems, like those who have had organ transplants. The study aims to gather recent information about how common these infections are, what factors might increase the risk of getting them, and how they affect the health of heart transplant patients. This information can help doctors improve the way they manage these dangerous infections.

To be eligible for the study, participants need to be at least 18 years old, have had a heart transplant, and have experienced a specific type of invasive fungal infection between January 1, 2008, and December 31, 2022. The types of infections being studied include aspergillosis, mucormycosis, fusarium wilt, and others. Participants will not have to do anything extra beyond sharing their medical data, as the study is retrospective, meaning it looks back at past cases. It's important for potential participants to know that their data will be used only for research purposes unless they choose not to participate.
