ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of advanced ultrasound technology, supported by artificial intelligence (AI), to improve the way doctors evaluate thyroid cancer before surgery. The goal is to see if this AI-assisted method can more accurately detect and diagnose thyroid nodules and lymph nodes compared to traditional ultrasound images. If the results from the AI and the standard ultrasound differ, doctors will perform a biopsy (a small tissue sample) to confirm the diagnosis. By comparing these findings to the final pathology results after surgery, researchers hope to establish a more reliable way to assess thyroid cancer, which could help doctors make better treatment decisions.
To participate in this trial, patients must have a confirmed diagnosis of thyroid cancer or benign thyroid tumors that require surgery. They should also have high-quality ultrasound images and be willing to consent to the study. However, individuals with a history of neck surgery, certain other cancers, thyroid dysfunction, or who have poor-quality ultrasound images will not be eligible. Participants can expect to undergo the usual preoperative evaluations, with the added benefit of AI technology being used to enhance their diagnosis. This study is currently recruiting participants of all ages and genders, aiming to improve patient care in the future.
