ClinConnect Summary

The clinical trial titled "Saline Infusion Test in Hyponatremia" aims to study how certain body markers change when patients with low sodium levels (a condition known as hyponatremia) receive a standard intravenous saline solution. This is important because understanding how the body responds to treatment can help doctors manage hyponatremia more effectively. The trial is currently not yet recruiting participants, but it will eventually include adults aged 18 and older who have specific sodium levels in their blood.

To be eligible for this trial, participants must have a plasma sodium level between 120 and 130 mmol/L and a measure of body fluid balance that indicates they are not too dehydrated. However, certain health conditions may prevent someone from participating, such as being in intensive care, having received too much sodium recently, or having serious heart or kidney problems. If eligible, participants can expect to receive an infusion of saline while doctors monitor their body’s response, helping to gather important information for future treatments.
