ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a special device that provides feedback on walking can improve the quality of walking in people who have had a stroke. Many stroke survivors struggle with walking, and while previous studies have looked at how fast or far people can walk, this trial focuses on how smoothly and evenly they walk. The researchers want to see if using a kinematic biofeedback system, which monitors the movement of the hip joint, can help patients walk better by improving their walking symmetry and reducing variability in their gait.
To participate in this study, individuals must have had their first stroke at least six months ago and be able to walk with some assistance. They need to be mentally alert and able to understand simple instructions. However, people with certain conditions that might affect walking, like severe muscle weakness or other significant health issues, will not be eligible. Participants can expect to use the biofeedback device during their rehabilitation sessions, and the goal is to see improvements in their walking abilities. This study is currently recruiting participants of all genders aged between 18 and 80.
