ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Postnatal Companion Support: The Effect of Education on Maternal Depression and Fatigue," aims to understand how training for support companions can help reduce feelings of depression and fatigue in new mothers after childbirth. The study will involve 70 mothers who have recently given birth by cesarean section, splitting them into two groups: one that receives the training and another that does not. Researchers will gather information about the mothers’ mental health and energy levels at different times, including right after the birth and a few days later.
To participate in this study, mothers need to be able to read and write in Turkish, be first-time mothers (primiparous), and willing to communicate openly. Unfortunately, those with hearing or visual impairments, complications from childbirth, or who wish to withdraw from the study will not be included. This research is important because it seeks to fill a gap in understanding how the support from companions can positively impact new mothers during a challenging time.
