ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the impact of dental discoloration, also known as dental dyschromia, in children who had high levels of bilirubin in their blood when they were younger. Bilirubin is a substance that can build up in the body due to certain liver conditions, and the study aims to find out how common dental discoloration is in these children and what factors might contribute to it. Researchers believe that children with this dental issue may have a lower quality of life compared to those without it. The findings could help in discussions about insurance coverage for dental care for affected children.
To participate in this study, children must have specific liver-related conditions such as biliary atresia, progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis, or Alagille syndrome. Parents or guardians must also agree to their child's participation. The trial has not started recruiting participants yet, but once it does, those who qualify will be asked to fill out questionnaires about their quality of life. This is an important step in understanding how dental health can affect overall well-being in these children.
