ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how training for nurses can impact the use of physical restraints in patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). Physical restraints are tools used to keep patients safe, especially when they might pull out important medical equipment. While these restraints can help, they can also lead to various problems, both physically and emotionally. The trial aims to improve care quality and safety by identifying gaps in nurses' knowledge about restraints and providing them with proper training to reduce their use.
To participate in this study, nurses must work in an adult ICU, volunteer for the study, and be able to complete a form without vision or language issues. Those who have already received training on physical restraints or are rotating through the ICU are not eligible. Since the trial is not yet recruiting, participants can expect a thorough training program that will help them learn safer alternatives to using restraints, ultimately benefiting both patients and healthcare providers.
