ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how gardening activities can help improve the relationships between parents and their children who are experiencing developmental delays. After the COVID-19 pandemic, many children have had less time to interact with nature, which can affect their development, especially for those who already face challenges. By bringing parents and children together in a gardening program, the trial aims to see if these activities can reduce stress for caregivers, improve their confidence in parenting, and enhance the overall bond with their children.
To participate, children must be currently receiving early intervention support and have sensory processing issues, along with a caregiver who wants to strengthen their relationship with the child. The trial is open to all caregivers, including grandparents. Participants will be randomly assigned to either join the gardening activities for six to eight weeks or wait without any gardening intervention. Assessments will be conducted before and after the program to see how things have changed. This research hopes to offer valuable insights into effective ways to support both children and their families during this important developmental time.
