ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how frailty affects patients who are scheduled to undergo digestive endoscopy, which is a procedure used to examine the digestive system. Frailty often means that a person may be weaker or may have more health issues that could complicate medical procedures. The researchers want to find out how common frailty is among patients needing endoscopy and how it impacts the safety and effectiveness of these tests. By doing this, they aim to create better care plans that help frail patients prepare for and undergo these procedures safely.
To participate in this study, individuals must be 70 years or older and scheduled for an outpatient upper or lower endoscopy. However, those under 70, those needing non-outpatient procedures, or those who do not agree to join the study will not be included. Participants can expect to undergo a thorough health assessment to evaluate any risks before their endoscopy. This study is still looking for volunteers, and the findings could lead to improved care for older patients undergoing digestive tests.
