ClinConnect Summary

The Community Health Equity Accelerator (CHEA) Pediatric Asthma Intervention is a clinical trial aimed at improving asthma care for children in the New Haven area. The study focuses on creating a partnership between local community resources and healthcare providers to offer better support for kids with asthma. It includes an online tool to help families understand asthma triggers and a program that connects families with health workers who provide culturally sensitive support, along with legal and medical services. The goal is to make it easier for families to manage asthma and reduce related health issues.

To participate, children aged 1 to 17 with a diagnosis of asthma may be eligible if they have experienced certain problems in the past year, such as needing oral steroids, visiting the emergency room, or having asthma attacks. They should also be living in the New Haven area. Participants can expect to receive education about asthma management and support tailored to their needs. This trial is currently recruiting participants and aims to help improve asthma outcomes for children in the community.
