ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different surgical methods to treat a condition called pilonidal sinus, which is a painful skin issue often found near the tailbone. The study will compare the Karydakis technique, a traditional surgery, with a newer method that uses a special laser to remove the sinus tract. The goal is to find out which method works better so that doctors can make the best choice for their patients.
Anyone with a diagnosed case of symptomatic uncomplicated pilonidal sinus can participate, regardless of age or gender. However, individuals with more complicated conditions, such as pilonidal abscesses or other skin disorders, or those who cannot have surgery will not be included. Participants in this trial can expect to receive one of the two treatments and will be monitored to see how well each method helps with their symptoms. The study is currently recruiting participants, so those interested should consider joining to help advance care for this condition.
