ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of a smartphone app called Feelee, which helps young people express and manage their emotions better. The app allows participants to choose an emoji each day that represents how they feel and gathers some background information from their phone. This data will be discussed in weekly therapy sessions with their clinicians. The goal is to see if using the Feelee app alongside regular treatment can improve emotion regulation for adolescents in a forensic outpatient setting.
To participate in this study, teens need to be currently receiving treatment at a forensic youth care organization and should expect to continue their treatment for at least another three months. They must also have a smartphone and be comfortable using it. However, those with serious mental health issues, like psychosis or a high risk of suicide, or those who cannot understand Dutch well enough, will not be eligible. Participants will use the app for four weeks, and their experiences and the data collected will be an important part of their therapy.
