ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different methods of permanent birth control during a Caesarean section: tubal ligation and bilateral salpingectomy. Tubal ligation is a common procedure that blocks the fallopian tubes to prevent pregnancy, while salpingectomy involves removing the tubes altogether. Researchers want to see how these two methods affect women's symptoms related to Pelvic Congestion Syndrome, a condition that can cause chronic pelvic pain, painful periods, and discomfort during sex.
To be eligible for this trial, women need to be at least 30 years old and planning to have a Caesarean section while also requesting permanent birth control. However, those with previous surgeries on their tubes or ovaries, certain congenital conditions, or known pelvic congestion are not included. Participants will undergo symptom assessments and ultrasound tests to help understand which method may be better for managing pelvic congestion symptoms. If you’re interested, this study is currently recruiting participants, and it could provide valuable information for women facing similar decisions about their reproductive health.
