ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating a device called MIRA, which is designed to help patients in the Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) feel better both physically and mentally. The MIRA device uses sounds and visuals to create relaxing experiences, aiming to improve the health and well-being of patients who have been in intensive care. The study will include 20 patients and 15 staff members at the NSICU, and it will run for about 12 months.
To participate, patients must be currently admitted to the Mount Sinai Hospital NSICU and expected to stay for at least 48 hours. They can also have a family member or representative provide consent if they are unable to do so themselves. All participants will fill out questionnaires to help the research team learn about the MIRA device's safety and effectiveness. This is an important opportunity for patients and staff to contribute to understanding how new technologies can support recovery after critical illness.
