ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two special ultrasound techniques to check if a breathing tube, called an endotracheal tube, is placed correctly in patients who are in intensive care. The researchers want to compare these ultrasound methods—one done at the neck and the other at the lower chest—with standard ways of checking the tube's placement. The goal is to see how accurate these ultrasound techniques are in ensuring the tube is positioned properly, which is crucial for the patient's breathing.
To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be adults over 18 years old who require support for their airway, especially those with a low level of consciousness. However, individuals with certain conditions, like abnormal neck anatomy or severe neck injuries, cannot participate. If you or a loved one decides to join, you'll undergo the ultrasound tests alongside regular checks to ensure that the breathing tube is placed safely. This research aims to improve patient care in intensive care units, offering potentially better ways to confirm tube placement.
