ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two types of training programs to help young athletes who experience patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS), a common cause of knee pain that often occurs during activities like jumping, running, and climbing stairs. The study will compare "perturbation training," which involves balancing exercises to improve stability, and "functional stabilization training," which focuses on strengthening the muscles around the knee. By understanding how these training methods affect pain, balance, and overall performance, the researchers hope to find the best approach to help athletes recover from this condition.
To participate in the trial, individuals must be between 15 to 30 years old, have pain in the front of the knee rated between 3 and 10 on a scale of 0 to 10, and not have had any serious knee injuries or surgeries. Participants can expect to engage in specific training sessions designed to improve their knee function and balance. This study aims to support young athletes in overcoming their knee pain and getting back to their favorite activities.
