ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a treatment called Erythropoietin (EPO) on preserving the alveolar ridge, which is the bone structure that holds your teeth in place. After teeth are extracted, this bone can shrink, making it difficult to place dental bridges or implants later on. The researchers hope that EPO, which helps promote bone healing and growth, will reduce the amount of bone loss that occurs after tooth removal.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be between 18 and 40 years old and have specific teeth that need to be removed due to issues like fractures or severe decay. It’s important that candidates do not smoke, are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and have healthy surrounding bone. If you decide to join the trial, you will receive the EPO treatment after your tooth extraction and will be monitored to see how well it helps preserve your bone. This study aims to improve dental care for patients needing tooth extractions in the future.
