ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how the body’s stress and inflammatory responses affect patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), which is a serious heart condition. Researchers are specifically looking at levels of cortisol (a stress hormone) and C-reactive protein (a marker of inflammation) to see if they can help predict how well patients will do during and after their hospital stay. By tracking these changes in patients admitted to the Coronary Care Unit, the study aims to better understand the impact of these factors on recovery and health outcomes.
To participate in this trial, patients need to be over 21 years old and diagnosed with ACS. They must also agree to join the study. However, those with certain conditions, like severe liver problems or recent heart attacks, will not be eligible. Participants will be monitored during their hospital stay and will receive follow-up calls for up to six months after discharge to check on their health. This study is currently looking for new participants, and it could help improve care for future patients with heart issues.
