ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how patients remember their experiences during a specific procedure called tracheal intubation, which is often needed when patients have a difficult airway during surgery. The researchers want to understand how different levels of sedation (how relaxed or sleepy a patient feels) affect whether they remember the procedure afterward. They will be looking at 100 adult patients who are expected to have a difficult airway and need special equipment called a fiberoptic bronchoscope or video laryngoscope for intubation.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be at least 18 years old and scheduled for surgery that requires this type of intubation. Those with unexpected difficulties, under 18, or with cognitive impairments will not be included. After the procedure, patients will be asked about their pain and any memories of the experience the day after surgery and again 30 days later through a phone interview. This trial aims to gather valuable information that could help improve patient experiences in similar medical situations.
