ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying new ways to see and measure fibrosis in patients with ulcerative colitis, a condition that causes inflammation in the colon. Researchers will use special ultrasound techniques to look at the intestines and compare these images with tissue samples taken during routine colonoscopies. The goal is to develop better imaging tools and markers that can help doctors understand and manage fibrosis in ulcerative colitis patients.

To participate in the study, you need to be an adult (18 years or older) and have had a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis for at least three months. You must also be scheduled for a colonoscopy. Unfortunately, if you are pregnant, have certain infections, or have conditions that would prevent you from having a colonoscopy, you may not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to undergo an intestinal ultrasound and provide consent for your participation as part of the standard care process. This research could lead to improved ways of tracking and treating fibrosis in ulcerative colitis in the future.
