ClinConnect Summary
The M.I.O Project is a clinical trial aimed at improving the quality of life for men with advanced prostate cancer, specifically those with hormone-sensitive metastatic prostate cancer (HSMPC). This project focuses on creating a supportive healthcare approach that encourages self-care and enhances both physical and mental health. Although there is promising evidence that combining different types of care—like exercise, nutrition, and psychological support—can help patients, many currently lack personalized options. The M.I.O Project plans to develop a mobile app that will provide these patients with access to helpful resources and therapies, all designed to boost their overall well-being.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be diagnosed with prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body but is not yet resistant to hormone treatment. They should also have access to a smartphone and be willing to take part in the study. During the trial, participants will use the app and complete questionnaires to track any improvements in their quality of life. This innovative study aims to see if providing tailored support can make a significant difference for men facing this challenging stage of cancer.
