ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Type 2 Continuous Glucose Monitoring Academy, aims to help young people with Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) better manage their blood sugar levels. It will compare a special education program focused on continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) with standard care practices. The trial will look at how well this new program teaches glucose management strategies and how it affects participants' diabetes control, as well as their emotional well-being and family responsibilities related to diabetes.
To participate, you need to be between 13 and 24 years old and have a diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes. You should also be able to read, write, and speak either English or Spanish. Participants will take part in four weeks of educational sessions, including online resources and virtual meetings with a diabetes educator. You will also use a continuous glucose monitoring device, like Dexcom or FreeStyle Libre, which will help track your blood sugar levels. After the education period, there will be a follow-up review after six months to see how well the program worked. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, so keep an eye out for updates if you're interested!
