ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new treatment for people with unilateral vestibular hypofunction (UVH), a condition that affects balance and can cause dizziness. The researchers want to see if adding a virtual reality experience using Oculus glasses to traditional balance exercises can help improve patients' symptoms. Participants will be divided into two groups: one group will follow standard rehabilitation exercises with a physiotherapist, while the other group will do the same exercises but also use the virtual reality system once a week for eight weeks.
To join the study, participants need to be between 18 and 65 years old and have been diagnosed with UVH through a specific test. However, those with more severe balance issues affecting both ears, vision problems, or neurological disorders, as well as those who cannot communicate, will not be eligible. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it offers a chance to potentially benefit from a new approach to managing balance problems while contributing to valuable research in this area.
