ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying three different ways to treat a common condition called pilonidal sinus disease, which mainly affects young adults and can lead to pain and time away from work. The treatments being compared are: a minimally invasive procedure called pit picking, a chemical treatment using crystallized phenol, and a combination of both methods. The goal is to find out how effective each treatment is, how long it takes for patients to recover, and how satisfied they are with the results. The study will also look at any complications that may arise after the treatments and how these methods affect hospital stays and healing times.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must have two or fewer pits associated with the condition. Unfortunately, those with more than three pits, certain complications, or specific health issues will not be included. If you join the study, you can expect close monitoring of your progress and support throughout the treatment process. This research aims to improve treatment options for pilonidal sinus disease, helping doctors better understand which methods work best for patients.
