ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different social experiences and backgrounds, like where you live and your ethnicity, affect how our immune system responds, particularly in relation to inflammation. Researchers are interested in understanding how experiences of perceived discrimination—like feeling treated unfairly—might change the way immune cells work in people from different backgrounds. By examining blood samples and using a virtual game to simulate discrimination, they hope to discover important insights that could help in treating immune-related diseases.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and identify as either non-Hispanic Black, non-Hispanic White, or Hispanic. You should also live, work, or go to school within 25 miles of Morgan State University, the University of Baltimore, or Texas Christian University. If you join, you can expect to provide blood samples and participate in activities that help researchers learn how social factors influence immune health. This study aims to improve our understanding of how different groups might be more or less affected by immune diseases, ultimately helping to create better healthcare solutions for everyone.
