ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into how different menstrual hygiene products—like tampons, menstrual cups, pads, and menstrual underwear—affect women's intimate health. Researchers want to learn how these products impact the vaginal microbiome, which is the community of bacteria that helps keep the vagina healthy. They will also examine how these products might influence the immune system and how comfortable women feel when using them. In total, about 1500 women will first complete a survey about their health and menstrual experiences, and from there, 100 will be selected to participate in further studies.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be premenopausal women who speak Dutch and live in Belgium, have a regular menstrual cycle, and are not currently pregnant. Throughout the study, participants will share their experiences using the different products and any other lifestyle factors that may influence the results. The goal is to help women make informed choices about menstrual hygiene products based on their health and comfort.
