ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how a special mobile health application can help patients recover better after undergoing reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA), which is a type of shoulder surgery often needed for severe shoulder arthritis. The goal is to see if providing personalized and interactive information through this app can lead to faster and more effective recovery compared to standard care, which offers general information.

The trial will involve 170 adults planning to have this surgery at two hospitals in the Netherlands. To participate, individuals must be able to use a smartphone or tablet, as those without access to such devices will not be eligible. Participants will be randomly assigned to either receive daily interactive updates through the app or just standard care. Over the first six weeks after surgery, researchers will measure how well participants recover in terms of shoulder function, pain levels, quality of life, and overall satisfaction with their treatment. This study aims to find out if using a mobile app can make a meaningful difference in recovery after shoulder surgery.
