ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a special type of counseling, called motivational interviewing, can help new mothers feel more confident and positive about using contraception after giving birth. The study involves 72 pregnant women who are between 28 and 32 weeks along. Participants will be divided into two groups: one group will receive the motivational interviewing along with their usual care, while the other group will only get the usual care. The researchers will check in with everyone 12 weeks after they have their babies to see how the counseling affected their views and use of contraception.
To be eligible for this study, women need to be between 28 and 32 weeks pregnant, able to read and understand Turkish, and willing to participate in follow-up after delivery. They also need access to a smartphone. Women who don’t have a sexual partner or who plan to have a permanent procedure to prevent pregnancy right after birth will not be included. This research aims to help improve support for new mothers as they navigate their options for family planning after childbirth.
