ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a special online program called "mindful parenting" designed for parents of teenagers with special educational needs (SEN). The program lasts eight weeks and aims to help parents manage their stress and improve their well-being, while also supporting positive behaviors in their adolescents. Participants will be divided into two groups: one group will start the program right away, and the other will wait a bit before starting. This approach helps researchers compare the effects of the program between the two groups.
To be eligible for this trial, you need to be a Cantonese-speaking parent or caregiver who has been the main supporter of a teenager with special needs for at least a year. Unfortunately, those with certain mental health conditions or recent personal crises may not be able to participate. If you join the study, you will complete some questionnaires at the beginning, after the program, and during a follow-up session. You’ll also participate in interactive online classes where your experiences with mindful parenting will be discussed and analyzed. This could be a great opportunity to learn new skills and connect with others in similar situations!
