ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different combinations of medications can help treat people with a condition called primary aldosteronism (PA), which can cause high blood pressure and increased risk of heart problems. Researchers want to see if a statin (a type of cholesterol-lowering medication) combined with either amlodipine (a blood pressure medication) or spironolactone (a medication that helps the body get rid of excess salt and water) can improve health outcomes for patients with PA. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of three treatment groups and will be monitored for changes in hormone levels, blood pressure, and overall cardiovascular health.
To be eligible for the trial, individuals need to have a clinical diagnosis of primary aldosteronism. Unfortunately, people who are pregnant, have severe liver or kidney issues, have allergies to the study drugs, or have certain mental health conditions cannot participate. Participants can expect to receive close monitoring and support throughout the trial, helping researchers understand how these treatments might work together to improve health for those living with PA.
