ClinConnect Summary
The STop UNhealthy Substance Use Now Trial (STUN II) is a research study designed to find the best ways to help doctors and clinic staff identify and assist patients who may be struggling with substance use, including alcohol. The trial will look at different strategies to improve how these screenings and support systems are put into practice in primary care settings. They will recruit 144 staff members from 48 different clinics to participate in this important work.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be staff members at primary care clinics who play a leadership role, such as doctors, practice managers, or nurse leaders. However, if they are already involved in other programs that would conflict with this study, they won't be able to participate. Those who do join the trial can expect to work on improving how their clinics address substance use, which ultimately aims to help their patients receive better care. This study is currently recruiting participants, and everyone is welcome regardless of gender, as long as they fall within the age range of 65 to 74.
