ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how specific parts of the brain's white matter work while patients are awake and asleep. It focuses on people aged 14 to 65 who have epilepsy that does not respond to medication. These patients will have a special type of brain monitoring called SEEG, which involves placing small electrodes in the brain to collect information. The goal is to better understand how the brain's wiring (the white matter fibers) behaves during different states of consciousness, which could help improve treatment options for those with epilepsy.
To participate in this study, individuals must have focal epilepsy that hasn't improved with drugs and need to undergo SEEG for further assessment before possible surgery. Participants will stay in a special unit for long-term monitoring. It's important to note that pregnant women and those who experience complications during the electrode placement will not be included in the study. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and those who join can contribute valuable information that may lead to better support and treatments for people with epilepsy.
