ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how artificial intelligence (AI) can help improve the way doctors check in with patients receiving radiotherapy for pelvic cancer. Specifically, the study is testing an AI tool that creates summaries of patients' symptoms during weekly consultations. Researchers believe that this AI tool can provide summaries that are just as accurate as those made by doctors, but in less time. The goal is to see if using AI can make these consultations more efficient and help doctors better understand their patients' needs.
To participate in this trial, patients must be currently undergoing radiotherapy for pelvic cancer. However, those who have had previous pelvic surgery or are receiving reirradiation (radiation treatment for the same area again) will not be eligible. During the trial, participants will have weekly check-ins where they will receive both traditional doctor-generated summaries and summaries created by the AI tool. Both patients and doctors will then provide feedback on the quality of these summaries. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it’s open to anyone aged 65 and older, regardless of gender.
