ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to help patients who have recently experienced an acute coronary syndrome (like a heart attack) lower their cholesterol levels more effectively. High levels of LDL cholesterol, often referred to as "bad" cholesterol, can increase the risk of heart problems, and many patients struggle to reach the desired cholesterol levels despite taking medications. The goal of the study is to see if self-testing for cholesterol can help these patients achieve their target levels faster and improve their overall heart health.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have had an acute coronary syndrome event in the past six months without reaching the recommended cholesterol levels. You will need to provide consent to join and be willing to perform self-measurements of your cholesterol. However, if you are unable to understand the study, unwilling to take additional cholesterol-lowering medications, or are a pre-menopausal woman without proper contraception, you may not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to learn more about your cholesterol levels and how to manage them better, with the aim of reducing the risk of future heart problems.
