ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a specific eye surgery called the BANG procedure, which is designed to help patients with a condition known as primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). The goal is to see how this surgery affects the space in the front part of the eye, called the anterior chamber angle, after the procedure. The researchers will use a special scan, called an anterior segment optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan, to check the condition of the anterior chamber after surgery. The trial will include 12 patients who are currently struggling to control their eye pressure with eye drops.
To be eligible for this study, patients must be diagnosed with primary open-angle glaucoma and have high eye pressure that isn't well managed—specifically, greater than 21 mm Hg. They also need to have open angles in their eyes, which will be confirmed through an eye examination. Participants will need to agree to have the surgery and follow-up appointments. However, some patients, including those with advanced glaucoma or those who have had previous eye trauma, may not qualify for this trial. Since the study is not yet recruiting, interested individuals will need to wait for further updates.
