ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of telerehabilitation—an approach that allows patients to receive treatment from home—specifically for individuals suffering from temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ) and myofascial pain. The goal is to see how well an exercise program delivered through telerehabilitation can help reduce pain and improve function for those experiencing discomfort in their jaw and facial muscles.
To participate in this study, individuals must be between 18 and 65 years old and have been experiencing myofascial pain related to TMJ for at least three months. They should have specific symptoms, like pain in the jaw area that has lasted more than a month, and must be able to give informed consent to participate. Those with certain other conditions or previous surgeries related to the jaw or neck will not be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in a home exercise program with support from healthcare professionals via telecommunication, making it a convenient option for managing their pain and improving their quality of life.
