ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new tool designed to help prevent pressure injuries in veterans with spinal cord injuries (SCI). Pressure injuries, also known as bedsores, can occur when someone is unable to move around easily, which is often the case for people with SCI. The tool, called the Community Acquired Pressure Injury Prevention Field Implementation Tool (CAPP-FIT), will be used in seven different clinics across the country to see if it helps reduce the number of pressure injuries that develop outside of hospitals.

To participate in this study, veterans must have a scheduled appointment at an SCI clinic and be able to complete a survey about their risk for pressure injuries. The survey can be done online, and it helps healthcare providers understand what actions to take to keep veterans healthy. Participants can expect to receive support from their healthcare team as they use this new tool, and researchers will also gather feedback to improve the program. Overall, this trial aims to make a positive impact on the quality of life for veterans living with SCI by preventing pressure injuries.
