ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving the skills of medical residents in helping patients manage their weight. Many doctors don’t get enough training in this area during their residency, so researchers want to see how effective a new program called MRWeight is in teaching these important counseling skills. The trial will compare two groups of residents: one group will receive special training through sessions and email modules, while the other group will take a standard course on obesity and weight management. Over an 18-month period, both groups will undergo assessments to see which training approach helps them better support their patients with weight management.
To participate in this study, you need to be a first-year medical resident (PGY1) at a participating hospital. The residency program must agree to include the MRWeight training in their curriculum, and residents will need to complete surveys and assessments as part of the study. This trial is open to all medical residents, regardless of gender, and aims to gather valuable information that could improve how future doctors help patients with weight management.
