ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying different surgical techniques to improve a procedure called external dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR). This surgery aims to create a new pathway for tears to drain from the eye into the nose when the normal tear drainage system is blocked. The trial is looking at various methods of managing a specific part of the surgery to see which is the most effective.
To participate, individuals should be aged between 5 and 100 and must have certain conditions like chronic inflammation of the tear sac, a blocked tear duct, or other related issues. However, those with recurring problems, very young children, severe dry eyes, or certain nasal issues won’t be eligible. Participants can expect to undergo the DCR surgery and be monitored for outcomes related to their tear drainage. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so if you or someone you know fits the criteria, this could be an opportunity to help improve treatment for this common condition.
