ClinConnect Summary
The I-CARE clinical trial is looking at a type of therapy called Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to see if a specific version, called CBT-MyOWL, can help young people aged 14 to 19 who have mood or anxiety disorders. The study will explore if this therapy is easy for patients to complete, if they find it helpful, and if it keeps them engaged better than standard CBT. Participants will take part in 12 therapy sessions and answer some questions about their experiences at different points during the treatment.
To join the study, young people need to be between 14 and 19 years old and have a primary diagnosis of a mood or anxiety disorder. They should also be able to read and understand English and not currently be receiving other active therapy. Participants will have the chance to share their thoughts on how acceptable the therapy is and whether it helps them feel better in terms of their mood, anxiety, and overall coping skills. This trial is currently recruiting participants and aims to provide valuable insights into mental health treatment for young people.
