ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how awareness and personal feelings can influence the placebo effect during a cycling exercise session. Participants will be divided into three groups: one that receives an active placebo (a treatment that produces effects but is not the actual medication), one that receives a passive placebo (no treatment), and a control group. The main goal is to understand how these different experiences affect how tired participants feel while cycling. To take part, individuals need to be between 65 and 74 years old, have a sports medical certificate, speak Italian, and agree to participate.
During the study, participants will engage in a cycling session that includes a warm-up followed by more intense exercise, while their heart rate and breathing will be monitored. Before and after the exercise, they will fill out surveys to assess their feelings of exertion and emotions. This trial is currently looking for volunteers, and it’s important to know that only those who meet the eligibility criteria can participate.
